AVAYA SeCom is an industry solution serving the special requirements in nursing homes and assisted living facilities. SeCom uses AVAYA Medial as software platform and thus as field-tested basis for combining communication and security.
SeCom Medial integrates telephony suitable for senior citizens, efficient nurse call, alarm management, service registration, assisted living and resident management in a single high-powered modular service scope. The system solution meets all the requirements that rest home management, nursing staff, and residents have in an alarm and communication system for residents.
Interacting with the AVAYA telephone system, decentralised multi-frequency diallers (WEG SeCom dialler) and PC-independent alarm converters (AVK) represent the centrepiece of the innovative emergency call control. Diallers and emergency call components are supplied with 24V power by a centralised and monitored SeCom Energia supply system.

MedCom Medial application is an AVAYA software platform that serves comprehensive functional requirements in the special deployment environment of nursing homes and assisted living facilities, while permitting the integration of additional, comprehensive and module-style services.

  • Service capturing to document nursing services
  • Simultaneous signalling and displaying of resident emergency calls at various extensions such as wireless receivers (pagers), wired terminals (ward phones), wireless phones in a DECT or WLAN network as well as mobile phones
  • Analysis, documentation, and control of resident alarm calls
  • Administration of dispersed organisational units
  • Administration of patient/ resident data
  • Migrating the phone number of residents relocating
  • Capturing, analysing and account processing of call data for patients, residents, staff, administration and dormitory
  • Displaying the status of residents’ rooms on central switchboards
  • Interfaces for data exchange with third-party systems
